Magazines are the Art Galleries of Modern Times Sølve Sundsbø’

Calling on the “Intergalactic” powers of avant-garde fashion, Sølve Sundsbø travels in time, in this fashion-forward look ahead, for the June issue of Dazed & Confused.  This prolific photographer triumphs, where others have failed, in this non-cartoonish look to the future.  In a photo-series that feels more like a live-art installation, Noomi Rapace wears Theysken’s Theory, combining just the right amount of stoic-somber/real-world vulnerable, for this captivating portrayal of “Supernova.”  Playing with the concepts of time & dimension, many of the  images appear to be free-floating pieces of inanimate art, once again, proving my point that magazines are the modern “art-galleries” of our time.  We live in a digital world where “high-art” can often be found in the pages of fashion-editorials.  I have long been a proponent of this concept, and have always believed that it was part of my “calling,” as a writer, to help distinguish the fine-artists in this category, from the commercial masses.  I consider it my job to use my art to illuminate others.  And I state here, without hesistation, that Sølve Sundsbø is one of the great artists of our time.  Images via Fashnberry.com.
