’50 Shades of Grey’ Ana Claudia Michels by Zee Nunes for Vogue Brazil

Sexy goes structural, as Zee Nunes brings the beauty of geometry to the modern femme-fatale. A lean, mean exotic machine, Ana Claudia Michels is an architectural dream in ’50 Shades of Grey’ for the November issue of Vogue Brazil. Fantasy-inspired fashion gets and update, with dynamic shapes and linear designs ideal for this complex female archetype. And while I have come to appreciate this season’s high-fashion erotica, I refuse to acknowledge any artistic connection between this gorgeous editorial and some poorly written novel of the same name. This is a trend influenced by the passionate spirit of the modern woman. This season’s dominatrix inspired garb celebrates female strength, with dynamic designs that reflect the intense power of natural desires. And while many of the artistic presentations play with the concepts of creative sexual play, the symbolism supports a movement toward empowerment, not that sanitizing of submission. I see our voice projected in the work of many of today’s great artists/photographers – they are our greatest allies.
