Harleth Kuusik and Molly Bair engage in a ‘War of Roses’ shot by Jeff Bark for Dazed, Spring 2015. Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons, sets the stage on fire with symbolic imagery that brings the heat. Stylist, Robbie Spencer, tells a tale of time erased with blood curdling fashions that are in your face. Avant-garde artistry erupts with the undeniable power of one-of-a-kind pieces. Opposing beauty builds itself up by composing a crescendo of creativity. Neo-naked cosmetics erupt with bleach-out brows backed by no lashes and soft pink lips. Symphonic shades light the way as, (Makeup Artist) Francelle conceives evocative color combinations that capture our imagination. One finds the features of the face as they would the forest through the trees. Hairstylist, Shingo Shibata, goes extreme, with dews that fall free except for one dynamic head-piece. Bark leaves raw emotion undone as poetry explodes.
The Rush of Red…
A carmine crush a crimson tide
a rose filled tear falls from my eye.
a cherry blush a pinkish pout
I scream a scarlet colored shout,
A fuchsia find a flaming hue
a ruby rose will have to do.
Bloodshot beauty came to be
a blushing sound for you & me,
a shadow secret deigns to play
a sanguine song on a darkened day.
A scorching flash of redness dawns
unto the dark and way beyond.
fan the flames, feel the heat
The fire is set to go.
