Isabelle Huppert moves through each image like an actress on stage in The Alpha Issue, captured by Sharif Hamza for inter/VIEW Germany, 09/16. Subtlety follows her from stage to screen, as Isabelle is on display, in this editorial that exposes the fluid movements of high art. A woman of the verge… that is how I see this exquisite creature. Open to life’s promise yet never afraid to face it’s fears, this is an evolutionary tale that invites the transfer of time. Each shot is alive with understated vivacity, propelling us forward, toward the untold. Reaching to meet unlimited potential, Huppert proves hope is where we find truth. Stylist, Andreas Peter Krings, states the portent of this story leads to a place of possibility. Dark fashions steal the scene with pieces that project an avant-garde theme. Life’s dramatic flair settles into the decadence of possibility, as designs defy the senses by Alexandre Vauthier Couture, Atelier Versace, Azzedine Alaïa, Giorgio Armani Privé & Valentino Haute Couture. Tough never tasted so tame with a flower held between gloved fingers. Tenebrous yearnings of dark days night delivers a vested vision of poetic harmony. Seeking ways to fulfill our destiny… finding time to sooth our soul.
Don’t be mislead by the subtle shifts, this female is a fighter. This tale embraces the nuance of change as unique accouterments add an element of desire. Black leather provides a unique backdrop against the softness of her beautiful skin. Bent over we see two golden straps settled on her shoulders, posing as a prism of red sparkles down her gown. Holding a sculpted head in her hands, she stares longingly at the face, with only the remnants of red lipstick staring back. Artistic reflection allows us to see when truth becomes but a memory. Confusion catapults us to another realm, sitting in quiet reflection with a black string strung between her fingers. Honoring every inch of her skin, Adrien Pinault brings beauty to life. This makeup maestro captures intimate expressions by highlighting the fire in her face. We’re not just speaking about beauty proper (although this is a woman of untold wealth in that department), what we’re seeing is cosmetic mastery. A composition of creative energy focused over her features, as moody tones are overtaken by a symphony of shades. Mascara is kept to a minimum, as eyes come alive with colors that range from neo-natural to a purple-gray tone. Like skin lit from within each picture portrays strength. The lips are met with a scarlet kiss, as her bordeaux pout blossoms celebrating the woman inside. The New inter/VIEW Magazine has made an optical overhaul, “Our September issue is dedicated to strong, independent, creative women. Women who have the power to influence.”
