Lorena Maraschi in “Playful” by Sol Sanchez for Numéro Magazine, May 2017

Lorena Maraschi rides on a rainbow in “Playful” by Sol Sanchez for Numéro Magazine, May 2017. This scintillating story will have us falling down the rabbit hole of haute couture. An expression of art and amusement collide as we buckle up for a fun filled ride. A season of spectacular is upon us as we celebrate the S/S Couture Collection. Guillaume Boulez creates a fantasy of high fashion with looks that seem to levitate on their own. The craft continues, as this delicious combination requires that we engage in a suspension of disbelief. Wearing a long, black coat that covers the length of her body, Lorena lays on her side surrounded by stuffed animals. Looking like she could fly away in a golden, leather dress made with one winged, silk arm and a lock embossed on the front. She stands tall and proud in a pair of thigh-high boots by Schiaparelli. Poised with a puffy, silk neck surround covering a plethora of exquisitely placed appliques. Viktor & Rolf create a carnival of haute couture, with styles by the Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Open for business, John Galliano for Maison Margiela Artisinal, captures a spectacle of sensation with a piece from his mind-blowing collection. Alexis Mabille defines this unique time period, by creating a blast of black tulle that sets off this neck-line like carnival of couture. Each piece injects whimsy, while playing with each other in perfect harmony.

A dream inside a dream… perusing each page our imagination ignites in a righteous rage. Luring us ever deeper inside, Min Kim invites us to ride the fantasy of the face. Makeup creates a platform of pure beauty, with a powdery complexion topped with a swath of pink blush. The eyes are left naked except for a wispy line of white that rides over the lid, while bleached-out brows sing against pillowy, soft skin. A blast of neon blue lavishes the lips as all bets of beauty are off. The Magic of Makeup Begins as a Rainbow Shape Lights Up the Face. The drive for skin scintillation is alive as a vision of neo-pop has arrived. Primary pigments are cast in a kaleidoscope of captivating colors. Shiny stars drip from her hands, perfectly matching the bold shades drawn over her full face. Pierre Saint Sever captures the fury of fun with natural, curly hair that catches the wind. Keeping the fantasy alive, there is a gorgeous crown by Alexis Mabille, being worn (of course) by a stuffed bear. This story compels us, in a unique and refreshing way. By being both soothing and scintillating we find ourselves lost in a world of sheer wonder. Sanchez celebrates the art of high fashion with a fairytale that embraces your spirit of youth.
