DSquared2 Fall 2012

In the Colorful-Kitchy world of  Dean & Dan Caten, life is nothing but a 60’s-chic rerun.  The only thing that comes to mind when I look at DSquared2’s Fall 2012 Collection is Cotton-Candy Dreams.  Every ensemble looks like it should come with it’s own sound-effects, and “barbie-doll” to match.  I mean come on if this isn’t the definition of delicious then I don’t know what is – Yummy!

MIchael Kors Fall 2012

What I wouldn’t do to wear head-to-toe Michael Kors.  His clothing is truly the stuff of women’s deepest style-fantasies.  You think our lust is for slinky satin’s & decadent lace, forget it, this is what we dream of.  Layers & layers of fabulous textures/fabrics draped in perfection is the MK-Way, each combination telling an epic tale of luxury and exotic travel.

Prabal Gurung Fall 2012

Prabal Gurung mixed it up for his Fall 2012 Runway Presentation, with a show that seemed to be made up of 3 mini-collections.  Moving from dark to light, with a lingering stop at the beautiful “Blue-Period,” his looks were a mix of amazing silhouettes/textures, with his signature perfect-tailoring ever apparent.  And while I enjoyed the strength of each section, I felt a lack of consistincy linking them.

Chadwick Bell Fall 2012

Chadwick Bell describes his Fall 2012 Runway Show as being “perfectly-imperfect.”  Calling his beauty inspiration “Frankenstein-Chic,” the models looked like a dark version of a “Stepford-Wife.”  With dangerous hair and lips to match, the styling just like the clothing, isn’t meant to blend into a crowd.  These are show-stopping pieces, just this side of extreme, Bell takes his designs right to the edge.

Creatures of the Wind Fall 2012

New to Fashion Week, Creatures of the Wind are benefiting from their recent CFDA win, earning them a chance to be seen with the best designers, and attempt to make a name for their quirky looks.

Versace Atelier Spring 2012

Somewhere between Matrix-Glamazon & Gladiator-Queen lives the Super-Stylish Bitch that’s gonna’ rock one of these Fabulous Futuristic Frocks, designed by Donatella Versace.  Having been absent from the Couture-Catwalk since 2004, Versace Atelier’s Spring 2012 Runway Presentation had alot to prove (not to mention the line of fashionista-celebs sittin’ front-row waiting to fight it out for the best dresses).

Chanel Couture Spring 2012

In the dizzying world of High-Fashion Haute Couture, Karl Lagerfeld could be called something of a “Fashion King.”  With a week where the runway becomes a legitimate stage, The House of Chanel always finds a way to shine, even in the midst of the insane & spectacular “side-shows” happening all around them.  While some might wish for more of an “Avant-Garde” presentation, I’m satisfied with the level of consistency and find the elaborate in perfectly coiffed/draped/tailored clothing sent down the Catwalk.

Alexis Mabille Couture Spring 2012

It’s here…Spring 2012 Couture Fashion is here in all it’s avant-garde glory.  With all the over-the-top drama a fashion lover can handle, these presentations aren’t for the style-squeamish.  As we see here with Alexis Mabille’s show, these modern pastel-geishas are a fantastical dream with gigantic flower-hats to match. However, the trained eye can sift through the show-pieces and get to the design.

Armani Prive’ Spring Couture 2012

In a Collection that looked straight from “Under the Sea”, Armani Prive’  2012 Couture was a dizzying array of every kind of sheen, shimmer, sparkle & shine the eye could imagine.  With a combination of Mermaid blue/green/yellow, these designs were a 3-D presentation of “fashion-skins” alive with multi-textured fabrics. With the spirit of Couture in tact, Giorgio Armani declared his inspiration to be “Metamorphosis” with the image of the snake being his focus.

Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2012 RTW

Jason Wu’s Pre-Fall 2012 Collection is an array of 40’s-inspired look that range from glamorous day-wear to elegant evening show-stoppers with a flare for the dramatic.  Just like that era suggests, these styles are all about being pulled-together within an inch of your life.  This isn’t for the laid-back casual girl, this is for the stunning globe-trotting socialite, or at-least someone who wants to to like one.

Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2012

Zac Posen’s Pre-Fall 2012 Collection is an Architectural-Dream, with all the form-fitted structure a fashion-lover could desire.  It’s the new Geometric-Chic.  Hard-edges and soft-curves meet somewhere in the stylish-center, with fabulous day-dresses that would kill-it straight into night, and formal gowns with flowing rivers of fabric, made to be a show-stopper.  This line is quite simply “Strictly-Fashionable.”

Chanel Pre-Fall 2012

With Fashions that look like they’ve been inspired from India’s Culture of Rich Textures/Fabrics, the Collection was very ornate and dramatic.  Karl Lagerfeld always seems to strike a balance between high-fashion and exotic-chic.
