You don’t have to live in L.A. to want that movie star glow. We all want it. But in that glorious effort to capture the perfect FAUX GLOW too many of us pass right by subtle sexiness and head full speed into that big orange wall of tacky. Sorry guys, unless you’re starring on this season’s Jersey Shore there is NO excuse for an orange spotty mess this year. We have the right tools at our disposal to fake a beautiful tan and a healthy glow. We just have to put in a little bit-o-effort and exercise a hint of restraint and all the ingredients exist to avoid the harmful rays for years to come – YEAH!
TOP 10 TACKY TANNING MISTAKES
- 1. Choose the color for the skin you have, not the skin you wish you had
- 2. If you’re pale a healthy glow is always better than a muddy mess
- 3. You can’t have a smooth sexy tan if you have dry flaky skin – you must exfoliate
- 4. Don’t be stupid! – give yourself time to dry before getting dressed
- 5. Use a tanning towelette for hands and feet – allows for more control
- 6. Sometimes it’s worth the xtra $$$ to find a product with the right scent
- 7. Apply tanning product in the most “natural light” you can find
- 8. Work your way up with bronzers – always easier to add product than take away
- 9. When applying – try to hit spots on your face/body just as the sun would
10. Take your time when applying – nothing good ever came from a wham-bam thank you tan!!!
