 The fabulous part of the Kate-chic look is that it appears so pulled together.  I can tell by looking at this image that she is wearing very little makeup and her hair is probably a couple of days away from being washed – but I am only noticing how chic she looks.

The most important choice Kate made was to choose a great monochromatic look featuring great faded black skinnies and a plain black tee under a very cool dark boyfriend blazer.  The variety of shades of black make the look dynamic, while the fit and color are trendy and flattering.

Choosing a caramel colored knee-high boot just adds a fabulous pop and takes it to the next level.

Pulling her hair back in a high chignon adds a hint of sophistication and is a perfect match for her wicked cat-eye sunnies.  These trendy glasses are a great choice for this casual look because they can be a show-stopper.  While Kate is wearing quite a few trends at once – they aren’t fighting each other and she comes off very laid back and cool, instead of desperate and trying to hard.

The important thing to remember when looking at this image is that there is no reason to look sloppy – you can pull together a casual chic look in seconds & trick the world if you have to.  No-one needs to see the bags under your eyes or grease in your hair.
