Join Amanda Booth on a “Journey Home”

Amanda Booth takes us on a journey of self-discovery through her cathartic work in front of the lens of Steven Lyon.  In this stunning layout for Remix Magazine “Journey Home”, she invites us to join her as she travels to unknown destinations.  I am so moved by the power of these images I feel compelled to react.  These works of art are no mere fashion-editorial, an aching display of bravery, they are critical pieces – meant to reach into our soul and demand a response.

Not surprisingly this story is brought to life with the haunting back-drop of Mexico, and the ever-masterful designs of Azzedine Alaia. Recently I wrote about the mysterious, enigmatic power of an Alaia – I found it very fitting that our heroine would be outfitted in such unique wares for this mystical trip. Alaia’s work isn’t about a moment in time – he refuses to bound by the restraints of “Seasons.”

He is all about the evolution of change, and the all-encompassing power of growth that one can experience, if present.  I see these as pictures that celebrate pain-rebirth, and the spirituality of pure presence.  Please go to fashiongonerogue to experience more of this beautiful journey.
