Jump on the Fall Trends Now & Go “MAD FOR MOD”
Posted Aug 16, 2011
So here we are, ready to take on Fall 2011 with the Fire of a true Fashion-Freak. And like any good “Trend Whore” will tell you, get in on the ground floor. If you’re gonna’ take on some of the extreme looks for Fall, you’ve got to get a Sartorial-Strategy going. You don’t want to look like you’re a “Fashion Follower”, or worse, unoriginal. With a fabulous trend like the “Mod” look, by the time you’re considering giving it a try, it’s all ready been “Done to Death” and on it’s way OUT!
To take advantage of the coolest styles this Season, be ready to go by September. If you’re head-over-heels over Mod-Chic, then pick one staple piece and build a few outfits around it. I picked this amazing layout from Vogue China’s August issue, because it was the first 60’s-Mod editorial that focused on varieties of Black. And leave it to the incomparable Raquel Zimmerman to show us how to take this look to next-level chic.
To integrate “Mod” Styling into my wardrobe, I’m starting with a great Leather 3/4 length Trench. You absolutely can’t go wrong with leather, and a trench never goes out of style. And while you can add endless accessories to Pump-up the Mod-Volume for this Season – by next year when this trend is just a memory – the right Leather Jacket/Trench can live and makes it’s way into whatever’s Hot in Fall 2012. So the bottom line… Don’t spend alot of money on High-Ticket Trendy Pieces (they will always break your heart). Enjoy some serious vintage-hunting, and pick up a fab hat or Color-Block A-line Dress.
