W’s “Kapow” Editorial Layout Will Knock-You-Out
Posted Aug 17, 2011
Here we go… Fall’s Fabulous Take on “Neon Chic.” I’ve been Completely Obsessed With 2011’s Spring/Summer love-affair with Bright/Bold/ Brilliant Colors. This has been the year of the “Neon Explosion” and I knew this trend wasn’t going down without a fight. Trading in some of the Spring-Pastels, this Season’s Neon is a true Dedication to the Bold.
In the September Issue of W Magazine, Mario Sorrenti found the brilliant-balance of Beautiful/Bold in his “KAPOW” layout. Sasha Pivovarova & Freja Beha Erichsen, bring these images to “Fashion-Life”, exposing the Glossy-Graffiti edge of this eclectic group of to-die-for Designers. Some of the standout pieces include; Fendi’s Sherling Coat, Chloe’s Wool Poncho, Missoni’s Python Coat, Cavalli’s Gold-Beaded Pants/top, and Balenciaga’s silk-mesh black vest. And although I’m drooling over every single piece, I’m DYING over Isabel Marant’s Patch-Work Jeans and Cream Fringe Boots. The obsession has been ignited and I will be on a hunt for those (or a more reasonable equivalent), ’til satisfied.
Tell me this editorial spread doesn’t get you jack-up to start layering vintage pieces with your Fall favorites. Jane How’s fabulous styling proves one thing is true this season, we can have it all. Bright-bo colors and mix/matching diverse trends – the only limits are your imagination.
