Jessica Stam Shows Us How to Befriend Blue this Fall, Numero Tokyo
Posted Sep 16, 2011
How do you celebrate your 50th issue if you’re a cutting-edge, fashion-forward, avant-garde Pop-Culture/Trend/Fashion Institution like Numero Tokyo – You make Jessica Stam your Cover-Girl – that’s how. She’s like the “Power-Hitter” of the Modeling-World, you can always expect a home-run with her.
In this lavish/lush world of 2011’s “Fall Fashions”, we’re being exposed to a truly delicious mix of texture/fabric. With elegant gold brocade jackets topping perfectly-cut soft leather leggings, to the dynamic dyed teal-blue fur and elegant sheer-silk. The only limits are our imagination – anything goes in this Mixy-Matchy world of rebellious pairings.
And in that spirit I’ve been waiting for the perfect Fall Blue eye-shadow to blow-me-away. Enter Numero Tokyo’s October 2011 50th Anniversary Issue. With Alexi Lubomirski capturing the full “Fall-Story”, Jessica Stam wears such designers as, Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, and Louis Vuitton – while topped with a “Beyond-Chic” perfect Blue-Eye.
This gorgeous “Sky-Blue” is lighter than we’re used to for this Season. Often when Autumn comes around we feel obligated to choose a deep midnight-blue – but all those rules have been thrown out. While Jessica’s eyes may be a bit extreme, I think using blue along your crease/bottom lash-line – is a fabulous way to get some serious Eye-Pop. Keep those lashes thick and black, with a frosty-white shadow on the lid/inner-eyes, then finish with a bit powder and a peachy-pink/nude lip. This is a severely-modern look, with very Chic result – just the way we like it.
