Thakoon Fall 2011 RTW

Thakoon covers a plethora of trends for the upcoming Season with such zeal it can at times feel as if you’re looking at a number of lines blended into one.  Usually a death sentence for a designer, this non-committed presentation comes together to form a kind of Beautiful Chaos – with the edgy House managing to cover each style with a fresh vision – allowing each to have it’s moment and shine.

From plaids to stripes/paisley to floral – Thakoon’s Fall 2011 Collection’s take on mixing non-traditional patterns/textures is a popular direction for Autumn, but no-one has handled it with such balance, there is absolutely no clashing, only Harmony Among Opposites.

So take it from me, it’s time to “Swoon over Thakoon.”  His aesthetic is Flirt with and Edge, and what’s better than that.  He designs for chic/comfort, a woman’s friend, it’s not surprising that he was Anna Wintour’s little pet early in his career, it’s clear he sees the woman behind the clothes – an important concept when you want your pieces to make that transition from “Runway to Realway.”
