Sophie Vlaming Plays the “Dark Angel” in Oct. Vogue Taiwan

Ceen Wahren finds the “Dark Angel” in Sophie Vlaming, for this feature-editorial in the October issue of Vogue Taiwan.  The cold months of Fall/Winter usher in a new way of approaching your wardrobe.  With our typical essentials taken care of, the “Life of the Layering” can take center-court.  It’s in these multi-layered ensembles that we find little-pockets of inspired gems.  The change of season sends out a sort-of siren call to the chic, where accessories that have been holed up for months can come out to play, and we can start just piling them on.  With amazing designers like Alexander Wang, Haider Ackerman, and Prabal Gurung perfecting the Art of Layering, we can enjoy our Obsession with accessories – and know that there are great guide-lines out there for how to work this look with a flattering outcome.  This “Dark Angel” layout isn’t just for the edgy anymore, we all want to don avant-garde tights, with motorcycle boots and a leather skirt, topped with a fabulous cashmere turtle-neck wrapped in a wool cape, and adorned with wicked piles of multi-level chains and a (too cool for words) wool avaitor beanie.  There’s just something so exciting about wearing all your coolest things in one fab outfit – it’s like the ancient Pharoh’s that wore everything they were worth on their body everyday.  It’s a license to get seriously creative, and mix/match your heart out.
