W MAGAZINE MOVIE ISSUE “BEST PERFORMANCES”
In a time when hope has become a “four letter word”, it stands to reason that films carrying this message must come in capable hands. With a Year in Film that truly reflects the world’s angst & hardship, it’s easy to see why some of our best actors have found ways to shine in many layered and complex roles, that had them fighting against the very concept of a “Happy Ending.” Some of the best artists of our generation are represented in W Magazine’s “Best Performances” layout, a diverse and unique group of gifted thespians seemingly gathered with the united purpose of bringing us hope.
And with names like Rooney Mara, Charlize Theron, Michelle Williams, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, George Clooney & Will Ferrell, in such films as Young Adult, The Artist, J. Edgar Hoover, The Descendants, Tree of Life, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Help, Just ask Kevin and more – it’s clear to see why this is the year that content trumps cash. It’s the year of “the story”, where all thing begin and end, in the writing. And whether it’s A-list stars or unknown ingenue’s, when the story’s there, hope will follow.
