Versace Atelier Spring 2012
Posted Feb 02, 2012
Somewhere between Matrix-Glamazon & Gladiator-Queen lives the Super-Stylish Bitch that’s gonna’ rock one of these Fabulous Futuristic Frocks, designed by Donatella Versace. Having been absent from the Couture-Catwalk since 2004, Versace Atelier’s Spring 2012 Runway Presentation had alot to prove (not to mention the line of fashionista-celebs sittin’ front-row waiting to fight it out for the best dresses). Taking everything to the extreme, these styles aren’t for the faint-of-heart. Liquid-Metal gowns made with corsets so tight the “fashion weak-willed” would probably only last minutes. Cinched in waist-lines highlighted by jetting hip panels, and dangerously-delicious “shoulder-wings” so agressively-defiant, they seem to come with sound effects. These gowns were made for the “hard-core” fashion lovers. And while some were said to be “let down” by the gaudy runway-design (that I will admit looks like the Gold-Room of the Trump Hotel), no-one could accuse Donatella Versace of going half-way. I’m Obsessed with the fact that these models look like the Sci-Fi version of an 80’s “Addicted to Love” girl, and you all know how I feel about my “Addicted to Love” phase (mostly that it’s still going on) and that it’s just f&*king cool.
