Dazed & Confused Korea Goes Trend-Wild in “Neon Delux”
Posted Mar 15, 2012
Throw your everyday beauty routine a “life-preserver,” and adopt some of the outrageous concepts shown in the March Issue of Dazed & Confused Korea. Yossi Michaeli takes advantage of this Spring’s hottest trends, by taking them to the extreme in, “Neon Delux.” With looks that seem to be poking fun at our obsession with all things trendy, Alyona Subbotina is dressed in items that scream Crazy meets Couture. In everything from crystal cat-eye sunglasses, crazy-wigs, bunny-ear masks, and outrageous head-bands – to plastic white sunglasses with slits, covered in “faux-blood” – these quirky shots come with a wink. And while it might take some work to sift through the heavy-handed styling in these shots, I think there is some redeeming fashion-value underneath it all. I love the variety of updo’s – with the “star” being the high-bun, centered directly on top of the head, and the half-up/half-down look with a bold-bouffant front. And while it’s covered with layers of splats & sparkles, these “Neon-Pastels” are a dynamic switch from the neon-norm. I’m not sure if I’ll be running out to buy blue-lipstick anytime soon, but I’m utterly enticed by these colors and the innovative approach to application.
