Muse Magazine Pays Tribute to Linda Evangalista in “Lady Doll”
Posted Mar 15, 2012
This “inspired” editorial, “Lady Doll,” featured in the Spring Issue of Muse Magazine, captures the true spirit of a time when “Super-Models” ruled the world. “Lady Doll” pays homage to that era, by recreating shots of the grande-dame herself – Linda Evangalista – backstage at a runway show. Recruiting 2 of today’s hottest models, Mariano Vivanco transforms Toni Garrn & Kendra Spears into eerily-perfect renditions of the 90’s-Star, wearing vintage-style pieces from Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana, Salvatore Ferragamo and Versace. Evangalista became the face of a generation of excess, known for her famous quote, “I never get out of bed for less than $10,000,” these girls were more than models, they were personalities. You didn’t have to be into fashion to know their names, they were universally worshiped for their beauty and celebrity. And while that 90’s-bubble ultimately burst, the SM “movement” forever changed the industry, and is one that should be honored for it’s contribution to style/history.
