Eniko Mihalik in ‘Skin Bondage’ by Robbie Fimmano Flair Italy

Eniko Mihalik is powerfully provocative in her debut performance for the October 2012 premier issue of Flair Magazine. Taking the high-fashion road, Robbie Fimmano uses pop-culture’s current fascination with erotica as inspiration for, ‘Skin Bondage.’ Showcasing this season’s bold, beauty trends, exotic black-cherry lips pop against perfectly porcelain skin and soft metallic eyes. Playing with the themes of dominance/submission, bright gold wraps scream against the hyper-sterilized setting of a doctor’s office, mimicking the extreme juxtaposition of these two worlds. Exposing secrets often kept in the dark, there is some kind of poetic symmetry found in mixing erotic fantasy with plastic surgery. While both may seem to be completely innocuous activities free from dubious influence, I take a somewhat more cynical stand. While there is nothing inherently wrong with either one of these choices, I will not let the tide of popularity dictate what I think or believe. I choose to use the tools of art and philosophy to explore such modern concepts. Just because something has been sanitized by society doesn’t mean we should stop asking questions. Great avant-garde works like these are meant to interrupt the chaos of daily life and incite deep thought and independent vision. Source (Fashnberry).
