Bringing us back to the Barbarella beginnings, Julia Kennedy gives us a hit of 60’s kitch in ‘Spring Candy’ for the S/S issue of Garage Magazine. Fall down this fabulous, fashion rabbit-hole of fun with a cheeky story that dares to bare the sexier side of Spring. Set against the antiquated backdrop of an aging motel, (stylist) Chloe Kerman creates a series of vintage inspired styles that playoff the background in a medley of mosaic harmony. Edgy, indulgent and all together cool, Kennedy’s images radiate with a kind of retro-realism found in this season’s rebellious blend of patterns and prints. An ode to the avant-garde artistry of opposites, Kristina Vidic’s sex-kitten makeup & Claire Rothstein’s saucy concoction of big-bouffant hair, pops off the page in a masterful mix of style & surroundings.
