Txema Yeste invents a new identity in ‘Le Genre Ideal’ for Stylist France #001. Taking a seductive stance, Samantha Gradoville escapes creative confinement in this provocative piece of editorial emancipation. A multi-gendered conflation built on the concept of, “reconciling the sexes.” Starting with the question, “why choose?” Yeste offers a united vision of hope, by combining both sides in this cosmetically enhanced consummation of the male and female. With looks that dare to bare the duality of truth, Violette’s gender-blending makeup invites us to see beyond the beauty of now to a promise of a better tomorrow. A day when that which has worked to divide us is dead. With imagery that includes mesh covering the mouth and red lips slashed across the face, Yeste’s bold message reignites the fight for female empowerment . An amalgamation of equals, here open-mindedness is taken to it’s artful end where the collective prospects of our future are doubled by the acceptance of true gender equality. A place of promise, the beauty of our being would be judged holey on what we have to offer the world, and gender would be seen as no more a hindrance as it is a help.
