Ming Xi is a Woman on Top in ‘Sexy Beast’ by Mari Sarai for the July 2013 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Singapore. Pre-Fall Fashion is here with a fierce and fabulous series of over-the-top scenes shot on the frenetic streets of Tokyo. Showing-up and Showing-out, Xi and her super-hero sidekick (Ultraman) dash through the city in decadent looks styled by Kenneth Goh. Fur goes futuristic, with a delicious mix of color & detail, these fun frames make the story feel like high end editorial eye candy. Never breaking face, Xi’s serious expression provides the perfect juxtaposition, as she hits the town with her metal faced man, in stunning makeup by Uda and hair by Teiji Utsum. With Sarai’s unique sense of satire this cool shooting style falls under a category I like to call, artfully indulgent.
