Katlin Aas delivers hard-core beauty in ‘Punk is Freedom’ by Jason Hetherington for the 2013 Summer issue of Glass Magazine #14. True to form, Hetherington finds a way to fuse this season’s Punk inspired madness with serious shades of futurism for an exciting vision of tomorrow’s beauty. An extension of The New Color Revolution that’s taking place, this innovative editorial introduces shapes & styles unlike we’ve seen. After decades of recreating the same old looks, today’s cutting-edge artists are out to break all the beauty molds. This is revolutionary stuff we’re witnessing. By redefining how we see modern makeup, Kim Brown is doing the most Punk thing imaginable, she’s challenging the very constitution of cosmetic artistry. Forcing us past our creative confines, her work takes a more expressionistic approach to the idea of face application. An explosive style I’m calling, Eye-Geometrics, with cool placement and air-brushed like effects these results are nothing less than stunning. This is way beyond the winged-eyes of the past, this is no-limits makeup made for a new generation of fashion-forward thinkers. I recently postulated that it wouldn’t be long before changing the color of your eyebrows would be as common as your hair, and in that same vein, I see a world of possibilities opening up to us by integrating these progressive eye-shapes into our daily routine.
