Sibui Nazarenko takes the stage in ‘Just Like A Doll’ by Marco Marezza for the September 2013 issue of L’Officiel Thailand. Posing amongst a sea of dancing dolls & hanging puppets this eerily, edgy editorial has all the makings of a high fashion horror show, but somehow ends up a powerful piece of performance art. Done in the tradition of saloon theater this playful series embraces the elements of vintage Vaudeville with just a touch of Victorian Burlesque. Taking us back in time (stylist) Santa Bevacqua creates the illusion of another era, with a stunning mix of modern styles including  some of the season’s quirkiest circus inspired couture. A life-sized wonder Sibui is the picture of waxy perfection, with artfully applied makeup and multi-colored wigs, this unreal beauty is truly a living doll. Daring and dramatic, while dangling lifeless dolls from the rafters may be edging into the territory of the terrifying, I still submit this creative coverstory lands firmly on the side of the avant-garde.
