Anastassia Rottie becomes the color in ‘Se Faire Une Couleur’ by Johan Sandberg for Stylist France No. 22. An exciting amalgamation of concept/design, using what the French term as Reflexive Causality, the title of this story indicates that Rottie isn’t just wearing the colors she is being transformed by them. It’s the difference between having something placed on you or having something done to you. Rather than being a shallow sartorial shift, Sandberg implies that the colors you choose can influence you on a much deeper level. Using a modern mix of solid shades and patterned designs, (Stylist) Belen Casadevall creates an inspired vision of Op-Art fashion with a selection of this season’s animal, tribal & graphics prints all playing off a reversed contrasting backdrop. And with an all white makeup mask artfully imposed by Marie Duhart and an tribal topknot coiffed by Olivier Lebrun, the simultaneous explosion of styles come together in cutting-edge formation. A vision of variance created by a constituent of colors interacting in cohesive collaboration, this kind of artistic assimilation allows elements of the avant-garde to enter into the picture with a seamless effect.
