Melissa Tammerijn breaks the beauty barometer in ‘Perfect Line’ by Jem Mitchell for the F/W 13.14 issue of MIXT(E) Magazine #5. Fall’s flawless face comes into focus with a series of progressive Pop-Art inspired eyes that are causing a tectonic trend shift in the world of beauty application. Modern makeup made for the future. After years of following the same lines new looks are taking over, whereby the wings are extended up into the crease creating an outlined effect. A true transformation, by changing the very concept of what constitutes “eye liner,” what used to be more of an enhancement process has evolved into a full blown shape shifting situation. Bold beauty that’s beyond compare, the immaculate execution of these new looks are a testimate to the power of precision. Each feature artfully attended to, (makeup artist) Maxine Leonard shows us that the most effective results come when special attention is paid to the subtly of shading & depth of details. It’s all about balance. No-one said we have to be perfect, but if we choose to attempt hyper-cool looks like these, lets try to do the job justice. So take some time to experiment this season, as I predict this new form of lid outlining isn’t just a passing trend.
