Farah Holt stuns in Schiaparelli Couture by Christian Lacroix The Zoo Couture by Baldovino Barani for Odda Magazine #5. Shot at Elsa Schiaparelli’s eclectic Parisian apartment, this story is set up to feel like an extension of Christian Lacroix’s much celebrated show at the Pavillon de Flore of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs this Summer. Beautifully bizaare, the eccentric set combines the same elements of high style and surrealism that made the 18 out-fit exhibition such a standout. A step up from your typical avant-garde fair, Holt becomes part of the art with wildly exotic shots that have her co-mingling with over-sized creatures. Bringing us back to High Fashion of the past, this stunning spectacle speaks to an era when trunk show presentations were put on more like live art installations. An evocative mix of innovative and elegance, the drama of Yasmina Benabdelkrim’s set is only out-weighed by the divine-decadence of the exquisite designs. As I can not do justice to a collection already (perfectly) covered by Style.com’s Tim Blanks – what I will say – is that Christian Lacroix’s exquisite mix of fashion and fantasy stands as a true tribute to Schiaparelli’s love of the High Art of Haute Couture.
