Raquel Zimmermann goes on an authentic ‘Art Walk’ in this eclectic editorial by Willy Vanderperre for W Magazine, June/July 2014. Lofty in her vision, Zimmermann captures the eternal essence of avant-garde. By taking her show on the road, she hits it hard in cool venues that include, The Broad, LACMA and East Hollywood. A merging of fashion and art, (Stylist) Edward Enninful mimics the gallery with modern looks from Carolina Herrera, J.W. Anderson, Yohji Yamamoto & Marni. Makeup Artist, Fulvia Farolfi, brings the features forward with divine beauty set off by the saturation of bold scenes. Natural and alive, (Hairstylist) Jimmy Paul lets the hair be loose with looks that frame the face and flow free. Using the body as a tool, the poetry of passion settles in as the illusion of life’s faltering reality filters through.
I was thrilled to read that Advanced Style was mtinnoeed by the NY Times! But as far as the Marc Jacobs’ show goes…I guess I’m out of touch b/c I didn’t find the show appealing at all. I thought Mr. Jacobs’ clothes were dowdy and very unflattering. And, using 14 year olds as models is not cool. Esp. since it is counter to the recommendations to the council. I’d like to see Ari’s models in a show! How ’bout that for an idea for Fashion Week?! Rock on Ari!
