Auguste Abeliunaite hides in plain site in ‘Pink Flamingos’ shot by Sofia Sanchez & Mauro Mongiello for Numéro Magazine #156. Celebrating the art of disguise, Auguste captures our imagination by embracing her alternative side. Do my eyes deceive me, or does decadence reign down as the dark side of beauty basks on the dessert of love? Opposites attract, as (Stylist) Samuel Francois gathers a group of wayward wanderers, in this powerful piece of exotic play. A fusion of fashion shines with circus inspired attire from Céline, Chanel, Diane Von Furstenburg, Dolce & Gabbana, Jean Paul Gaultier, Prada & Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane. Makeup Artist, Rie Omoto, embraces the attitude of her surroundings with a hyper-modern mix of color and application. The face of the future erupts in this story that speaks the truth of tomorrow. Red, yellow, golden & blue (Hairstylist) Romina Manenti brings haute hues with artistic vision backed by an experimental attitude. Fighting for freedom, we find that through the pathway of persistence comes the purity of hope.
Pink Flamingos in the daylight
dancing in the sun
drowning from the drenching
of love has just begun.
Through the arc of aching beauty
comes a river of my dreams,
a lofty bit of silence
is never what is seems.
Yellow eyes upon me
gaze me up and down,
the future is but waiting
for me to hit the ground.
Colors spin before me
I close eyes and choose a tone,
for whatever falls and makes me wake
my life… my self… my home…
I’ll blaze a trail before me
filled with all my tears
I’ll cry them in dark silence
where no one hears my fears.
They’ll wash me of my sadness
cleanse me of my sins,
help me face the war of life
a fight that no one wins.
I’ll seek the solace of riches
but wear the rags I own,
for that which I have sought
is Mine and Mine alone.
