Carolina Sjöstrand captures an in-between dream in ‘Fragment’ by Martin Vallin for Dansk Magazine, F/W 2015/16. Waiting for the art to start we find ourselves stepping into an elusive season of change. Deconstructed designs helps us to see the will of wonder waiting to be. Under carefully sewn stitches and perfectly coiffed lines, buttoned-down beauty gets a new address. Layers of ethereal tapestry falls over the skin in this dynamic blend of mixed-media magic. Torn & tattered never looked so good with styles that are hiding a secret. Elin Edlund redefines high fashion with haute combinations that make us think. Cut pieces speak chic with sewn looks stacked on top of each other. The eyes comes alive as (Makeup Artist) Jeanette Törnqvist devises orbital shapes that scream to be seen. Veering down in a violet rush color lines the lids in a purple haze. Deep pigment invades the face, with a steely tone that matches the nails, giving purple the power to pop. As brows beckon forth beauty by taking the hue one step above the natural brink. Lips follow suit with a perfect peach tone that mimics the subtle shifts of creation. Hairstylist, Dejan Cekanovic sweeps the blonde dew into a pony with a selection of fedoras that keep the mystery going. Fleeing our anguish through the act of mental escape, abstract insight erupts with the thought that, “our conscious choices run counter to our intellectual freedom”. Sinking into salvation, this explores Sartre’s profound essay, Being and Nothingness. The Collage of creation unfolds, as we step into another world where we find the mind is a magical place.
