Lexi Boling, Binx Walton, Julia Nobis & Hanne Gaby Odiele form a female super-group in “In the Air” by Fabien Baron for Interview Magazine, October 2015. A cacophony of creativity is borne to be in this conclave of human history. Defiant portraits described as a stream of consciousness. Baron invites us to travel into his mind’s eye, with a slide show of sentient images that play until they fade away. Stylists, Karl Templer & Miguel Enamorado, stand united as they incite high fashion to rise up in eclectic ecstasy. Designs arouse a sense of strength from Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Gucci, Haider Ackermann, Louis Vuitton, Maison Margiela, Miu Miu, Prada, Proenza Schouler, Sacai, Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane & Yohji Yamamoto. Art evolves as poetry passes through the air, imitating bouts of fog evaporating in the mist. Sitting naked and alone, the smoke of Lexi’s cigarette swirls around her as the moment is met with peaceful harmony. Jamie Bochert invites us to examine the distance that exists between true extremes, with Dawnamatrix. Utterly covered yet daringly transparent, shots of the skin are seen through holes displayed across the body of the design. Thigh high boots and a see-thru coat bleed into the collar, making it appear as if one piece. Fueled by the flame of fashion’s fire, revel in the nuance of connection. The future is here with looks that erase the idea of gender specification. Couture Punk has its moment, with a season that sees this as an extension of couture rather than a clash of culture. Wearing Art is one thing to become Art is quite another. Realness projects raw power with a hit of urbane street-wear. Haider Ackermann makes a statement on the fusion of sexes, with a long, dark skirt worn over sleek Vetement boots. Performance Artist/Nightlife Aficionado, Gage of the Boone, brings his unique personality into the mix with a neon infused outfit, complete with headlights to match. Cuba Tornado Scott lives up to famous Grandfather, Ridley Scott’s, ways with a fierce independence that streaks through her like strikes of lightening. ~ To get inside a tornado is to understand its trajectory.
Common to the youth of today, this story celebrates the beauty of now. Cosmetic applications erupt as Mark Carrasquillo shows us a stunning selection of modern makeup. Lexi lures us in with one of the most dynamic images of the collection. Sitting in solitude, smoke snakes out of her mouth, circling the face in a swirl of spirited sanctity. Gage of the Boone embraces the extravagance, by matching swaths of face-color with fluid clothing. Hand-made designs are matched in perfection with a neon depiction unlike we’ve seen. Soft and hard blend together for a delicious take on underground theatre. The beauty of Bochert breaks through, with black lips that speak utter chic. As long bangs cover the eyes, leaving us to see only the powder of white ecstasy. Models mimic the glare as Susie Sobol invites skin to shine. Auric emanates off the metal sheet below, as features are embolden by a golden masked hue. Riding through the prism of the imagination, this takes us from nude allusion to ethereal ecstasy and funked out fury to futuristic fantasy. Anna Cleveland debuts a new era of humorous theatricality, as she ushers in the face of the future. Strands seem to stand on their own as each piece flows into a head of distinction. Kaia Gerber shows why she is touted next generations’ Super Model, with wild hair crafted by Guido. Far beyond the idea of backcombing, Duffy, Garren & Shay Ashual mix their talents in, taking coiffure to another level. To be utterly enchanted by Grace Coddington, to feel her power and to be uplifted by her soul, that is the meaning of true beauty. Superhero style comes to bare as four fierce females play the part of true Haute Heros.
In the dark of night all becomes one as something wicked this way comes… dancing in the shadowed dreams, a silhouette of sightless screams, shows itself in a farrowed hue, as I deign to make my hopes come true, through the art of madness sanity succumbs… through the fight for freedom all doth become… one. poetic prose – tanyajo
