Saskia de Brauw schools us in the art of forward fashion by Mert & Marcus for Self Service, F/W 2015. A transformation takes place as Saskia shows us the light side. The power of peroxide takes hold with bleached-out beauty that invites us to unite. Gender lines become extinct in this artful examination of what’s to come. Defiancey takes on new meaning with a focused female not afraid to change. In one of the most compelling stories of the season, this gives us a prophetic view of tomorrow’s trajectory. Stylist, Melanie Ward, invites us to participate with dynamic fashions set to soar. Retro gets a redo from a divine neo-dress by Givenchy, to a vintage, yellow bomber and blue Lamé jumpsuit. Each look sneaks us a peek into the future, with designs that go from floral feminine to khaki masculine. Strength emanates off the face, as (Makeup Artist) Aaron de Mey plays these pictures with perfect pitch. Naked beauty beckons, born out of the idea of touching nature. Free features fill the screen sending a sense of independence, as the skin breathes with an alabaster glow. Effervescence burns through the body with an intense luminosity unlike we’ve seen. Bleached out brows give off an invisible effect, with lids that appear to blend into the forehead. Golden eyes invites us inside while her piercing stare stands in imminent protection. Fresh freckles dust the cheeks with a peachy tone, giving the face an ethereal glow. Just kissed lips exude a berry sweetness, as the curves of her mouth are empowered with pure passion. Hairstylist, Malcolm Edwards, captures an otherworldly effect with a shorned dew composed to connect. Neon hues ride through the night as Saskia lets the colors go right through her. Beckoning us to the forefront, a shining light engenders hope, as Saskia sits as a poetic reflection of our times.
