Lili Sumner blasts off in Artifices by Miles Aldridge for Numéro #168, November 2015. I sank into a splendored rush of wicked wonder and neon plush, color swirls in dated play as I find myself doing the retro sway. A hail of high pitch tones touch the screen, from the roar of orange to the grasp of green. Interlocking floor mats flush together as tiles meld like pieces of a pop art puzzle. Lili lets a pile of pure pigments invade her mind as candy-coated daydreams swim inside her head. Stylist, Samuel François, celebrates the fireworks of fashion, with solid shades that twirl like ice-cream spinning off a cone. Hypnotic hues invites us to view this tangled web of visual decadence. Tenacity speaks in utter chic, as (Makeup Artist) Lloyd Simmonds reflects cherry red lips with a sweet tone vibrating on top. Architectural patterns play on in a dizzying blend of deco-nouveau. Bold, brilliant, brash and ballsy, the beauty of beguiling is wrapped inside the will of wonder. A neon dream makes the colors scream, as Aldridge captures the nuance of naughty with a twist. Cat-eyes purr their way out of the sides, with a tale that both bends up and sticks straight out. Going for a look that’s clean/extreme, black liner tops the lids leaving the bottom utterly naked. Subtle lashes bat their way into submission as nude brows beckon us to be free. The bow of the lips lure us in with a brazen mouth that leads the way. Hairstylist, Seb Bascle, steals the show with a back-combed dew that redefines the concept of big, blonde hair. A dizzying mix of art and ecstasy, the bathroom is where I let myself lay as the body bends itself over the tomb of the tank. My reflection emanates off of the tiles as I wait for the will to jump…
