Ruth Bell invites us to witness the wonders of the world in “Intoxicating Romance” by Ryan McGinley for Vogue China, September 2016. On a journey of discovery we set out to expand our mind and free our soul. Each shot is a celebration of life in some of this season’s most compelling captures. Ethereal fashions aim to float free as the sky stands in solidarity. A poetic reflection of time expanding, designs evolve and shift, mimicking the worlds’ wonders. Daniela Paudice invites us inside as pieces sync in a kind of spectacle of sensation. Transparent garments whisper in the wind while diaphanous fabrics fill the aire. Pellucid pieces fall to the ground as the motion of the ocean flows all around. Waves crash against the water’s wall, reflecting light from every angle. Gossamer delicates define the concept of true translucency, allowing see-thru styles to expose what’s lying beneath. Blue silk billows about as Bell stands in the center of a tall grass field. Energy generates from the center of the earth, expanding and contracting in a kind of hypnotic impulse. A backdrop of beauty befalls upon us as Luisa Opalesky mimics the music of natural colors. A trail of freckles pass over the skin as an ethereal glow emanates from within. The Brows are the Thing as the Music of Makeup Begins. Gilded shadow dusts over the lids, as a golden hue highlights the base of the brows. Ice-blue eyes invite us inside with a penetrating stare that stirs the senses. The lips evoke a just-bitten flavor with a tint that scintillates as it stimulates. Gender-bending has never been so inspired with masculine hair that’s mixed with feminine intentions. Moving to the rhythm raw power takes control. Becoming one with earth’s bounty, she finds her inner strength. Bell’s beautiful body falls against a giant tree trunk, showing us the smallness of our human form. Each shot symbolizes our love of land and our place in the universe.
