Toni Garrn waits for her lover in a cabin by the bay, in this 2-part story by An Le for Vogue Portugal, September 2017. Starting with one sophisticated lady… enter the stunning, Toni Garrn. She exudes an aire of sophistication, while simultaneously giving off a darkened edge. Teaming with mystery, each image offers up another chapter to this visual thriller. Paulo Macedo sets the stage with styles that stay on the seductive side. Fashion ignites a firestorm, daring us with an aire of temptation. Body hugging dresses keep us on our toes as the life of a seductress is artfully exposed. Savvy designs exude a deliciously sinister edge, with looks that carry the wearer’s secrets. This fearsome female could get away with anything as her face is one of an angel. Stepping deeper into the vortex, we can feel the nefarious energy emanating off her being. Taking a filmic approach to the art of storytelling, Toni wears a tight, red dress that bounces off the same tonal treatment that floods the house front.
Niki M’nray delivers eye optics that mimic the emotion of the ocean. To start with she portrays a perfect palate. Skin untouched by life and all it’s harms. Cosmetics work to convey as each picture aches to portray. This is when the story takes a turn toward the dark side. Delving in, Niki takes on the face of a Hitchcock heroine. Beauty untouched by life and all it’s heartache, this follows the technique of many suspenseful thrillers. Allowing the skin the speak we have no need for words. Blue eyes ignite as a gold shadow acts to calm and delight. It’s the new naked. Makeup looks so natural it doesn’t even register. Powder creates a clean base, while a glowing tint hits the the height of her bones. Cheeks are dusted with a soft, rose hue, while the lips are kissed with just a hint of blushing pink.
Staying true to the original hue, Nabil Harlow captures what was known as, The Hitchcock Blonde. A popular shade amongst his many tortured female leads. The flaxen color is unmistakable with cool undertones that give off a frightful edge. A tight updo represents uncompromising elements, while the free-falling, front portion of the hair behaves as if a separate spirit. This pictorial plays out like shoots from a move scene. Act I has Toni calming walking down the beach… Act II portrays her pensively standing outside of the house smoking a cigarette… and then finally, Act III arrives and all bets are off. Window shades create a dramatic site line, as she stares through the dark her blue eyes shine bright. Shadows put us into a trance dividing her face with a frightful glance. Lines of broken light echo the internal chaos of lost innocence. Gorgeously garbed, she’s seen through the picture window wearing a tight, red dress draped in dark fur. Poetic in projection dramatic in display… she stands poised as if a predator waiting for it’s prey.
