Léa de Wouters goes through a multiple metamorphosis in ‘Transformers’ by DOMEN & VAN DE VELDE for Mirror Mirror Magazine, June 2020. What Cover the Face Does Not Erase… The Truth the Lies Beneath Our Cries. The craft of the haute couture is put to task in this exquisite editorial designed to defy the magical eye. The art of morphing takes new shape as Yvonne Nusdorfer & Joeri Rouffa allow their talents to meld. Each application is pure mastery. In this era of the face covers this story stands as a reminder, that which we see often goes deeper than the eyes can travel. Mirror Mirror is a title so telling in a tale that asks that we look past the external and take a tour of our truth. What lies on the other side? A profound undertaking. We journey to the unknown in an effort to get to something deeper. True art isn’t afraid to travel too far. A deeper view requires that we bend the imagination. It’s not always about seeing something that doesn’t exist. Sometime, it’s about the consequence of mind-capture. The ability to imagine a time beyond where we stand. To see that beyond the scope there is hope.
The craft of the modern costume is put to task in this exquisite editorial designed to defy the magical eye. Some changes are crafted, laying like fabric atop the skin. No physical transformation has taken shape but mindful shift is convincing. Then there’s the more artful mutation. Giving the illusion that the face has changed shape, thereby altering the very way we see our individual humanity. Léa’s looks aren’t merely a mix-up they are a metamorphosis. The art of morphing takes a new shape as each image is alive. In this era of face covers this story stands as a reminder, that what we see often goes deeper than the eye can travel. This is a tale of looking past the external and taking a tour of the great beyond. Beyond our ides of what modern beauty means, this tantalizing tale takes us deeper. This story bypasses pride takes us instead to the other side. Mirror Mirror is a title so telling in a tale that asks that we look past the external in an effort to get to something deeper. A view that requires that we bend the imagination. It’s not always about seeing something that doesn’t exist. Rather, it’s about the consequence of mind-capture. The ability to imagine a time beyond this place we stand, as life is an ever balance of heart and hand.
Here we are treated with both timely and thought provoking imagery. Reminding us we are in the middle of a transitional period. Yvonne Nusdorfer invites the imagination to fly with a story that gives us wings. I have long believed that beauty reaches far beyond that which we understand. The art of enticement isn’t about provocation, it’s about passion that asks us to push past conceptual comfort. This is where we enter what I refer to as your Healing House. A private zone that is as unique as your fingerprint. Centering on this artful repose allows us to refocus our creative energy. A force that I have long held to be one of the driving forces of human nature. Not just important, but Potent. Paying tribute to that distinction will allow us to go further in our mindful journey. By that I don’t mean that beauty is non-consequential or that beauty doesn’t exist. I merely mean that somewhere in the pantheon of pretty there comes a kind of neo-reflection that must take place. A new view that gives you a reflection of the who. Who Am I? Who Are You? Who Is Anyone?
This isn’t a cover up, this is exposure. This editorial unfolds leaving me awe-struck by the symbolism. Each image is rich with detail design to inspire. Down We Go Into The depths of the Shared Soul. Undeterred by the Current Chaotic State, We’ve Decided to Dive Deep. Trying to use the pain we have endured to make our collective spirit stronger. Understanding the common thread of acrimonious outfall could derail us. I can then take those applied actions and put them to use. They will only ever be something I applied to my truth. A truth that existed long before any training, cajoling… or even inspiring. To that end, I understand that this isn’t a measure of good/evil, right/wrong or strong/weak. This is truth that simply exists outside of my intention. It exists because I am … and I am because it exists. There is no Negotiations. I am not Suppose to Be.. Or Trained to Be… Or Threatened to Be… Or even, Inspired to Be. Rather, I Just Am. It is in that reckoning that I can be free.
Mirror Mirror On the Wall…
Who’s the Fairest of Them All?
Whom will walk with heads held high
above the frey to meet the sky.
Who will spark an embers fair
to stop the fear with joyous aire.
Who will dig in deep despair
to fill our heavy… hollowed hearts?

“The power of beauty is that it can break people open when touched by it.
For a split second time passes slowly. . . we think . . .and think . . .
What happened?” #ITSALLABOUTBEAUTY
